Talk:Silmido (film)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I can't believe it. I consulted the maps of Microsoft Encarta and the NASA freeware World Wind and cannot find where Silmi Island is. I also googled. There are some guided tours to that island, but so far, none of them provide a map. There are dozens of small nameless islands off the coast of Incheon. I just don't know which one is that island. -- Toytoy 16:56, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Plausibility
As far as I know, you did not need to use criminals to kill Kim Il-sung. There were thousands of well-trained WW2 soldiers who would trade their souls to the devil to get Adolf Hitler killed. So were the South Koreans. Why use criminals? It takes years to train a smart young man combat fighting. To kill an enemy leader, you need soldiers who are highly intelligent and well-educated. The last thing you need is a bunch of wild boys. You may use them as decoys. Anyway, you have all these well-trained and willing soldiers at your command, why use criminals? -- Toytoy 18:01, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Miscategorization
This film was categorized in Wikipedia with "Korean War films". While it is a Korean film, and it's about soldiers (although not really about war), it is not a film about the Korean War. Therefore, I've removed that category from the main page.
