Silicon Laboratories

Silicon Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: SLAB) is a mixed signal fabless semiconductor company based in Austin, Texas. The company was founded in 1996 by three veterans from the former Crystal Semiconductors – Nav Sooch, Dave Welland and Jeff Scott. The company's CEO is Necip Sayiner.

The company has four main product business lines:

  • Wireless - led by Dan Rabinovitsj
  • Wireline - led by Dave Bresemann
  • Broadcast - led by Tyson Tuttle
  • Microcontrollers - led by Derrell Coker.

Silicon Laboratories has about 700 employees worldwide. The Rennes, France R&D facility focuses primarily on the AeroFONE single-chip phone systems and software areas. It is led by M. Olivier Lemarchand and M. Jean-Pierre LeTheo, both respected experts in the area of mobile phone systems and software.
