Silenoz (real name Sven Atle Kopperud), is a Norwegian guitarist. He is, along with Shagrath and Tjodalv, a founding member of the Norwegian black metal band Dimmu Borgir.

Silenoz has been a guitarist for the band from the start. He composes most of the riffs and melodies that are a large part of the band's sound. Silenoz also writes the majority of the lyrics for Dimmu Borgir and also contributes with back vocals. His vocal work can be heard on "For All Tid", "Stormblåst" and "Godless Savage Garden". In the early days of the band he used a stage name Erkekjetter Silenoz which means arch heretic, but has shortened it to Silenoz.

Before playing in Dimmu Borgir, Silenoz played in "Malefic". Another band Silenoz, or "Ed Damnator" as he was called, played rhythm guitar in was the Norwegian thrash metal band, "Nocturnal Breed".
