The following is a list of actors and actresses who first became popularly known to the public in the silent film era of the 1910s and 1920s. This list includes international performers who were well known throughout the world, and those who may have only achieved fame in their native countries. Some silent film actors and actresses had careers that only spanned the silent film era. Others however, maintained careers with the advent of sound film, or talkies.
