Staten Island is the 'forgotten borough' of New York City, formally known as the home of the largest landfill in the world up until 2001 called Fresh Kills Landfill. Movies like The School of Rock which will be showing this weekend (11/16, 11/17, 11/18) on TBS and the famous The Godfather. An episode of The True Life follows three Staten Island girls who are are essentially loser, staten island stereotypes as they try to advance in career. Two of the girls graduated from Notre Dame Academy Highschool which is right next door to Wagner College where The School of Rock was taped. Also, parts of War of the Worlds was taped on a Staten Island highway, causing many of the locals to stop their daily lives to watch the filming.
