Sightsavers International

Image:Ssi logo3.gifSightsavers International is a UK based charity (registered charity number 207544) which works to combat blindness in developing countries and restore sight to those who are needlessly blind through specialist treatment and eye care.

In addition the charity provides education, counselling and training to people who are irreversibly blind, living in poverty in some of the world's poorest countries.

In developing countries, loss of sight often leads to social exclusion, leaving those who are blind vulnerable to abuse, poverty and early death. Less than half of all children who lose their sight in such countries survive to adulthood.
