SIGCSE

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SIGCSE is the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education, which specializes in the improving and creating methods of teaching computer science. It is also the name of an annual conference, organized by SIGCSE.

Most of the focus of SIGCSE is on higher level education, though discussions often drift into improving education at the high school level and below.

[edit] Conferences

SIGCSE holds several annual conferences:

SIGCSE - The main, yearly conference for SIGCSE members, held in late February or early March at a rotating location.

ITiCSE - Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education; this is usually held at an European location in June.

ICER - International Computing Education Research Workshop; this is a new conference (the first iteration came in 2005) dedicated to research.

[edit] Newsletter

A newsletter by the name of inroads is quarterly, with two of the yearly issues dedicated to articles presented at the two main conferences (SIGCSE and ITiCSE).
