To (presumably) Zero: When I saw this in the edit history, I had to laugh! (This power scaling is going to desist. Full stop.)
You probably did that in response to some of my edits. Well, let me clear the air :) I'm new to wiki editing and have learned quite a bit over the last few weeks, including what should and shouldn't be in an article (more specifically a KOF article). Kensou was my first attempt at going beyond tweaking, so he was my first real learning process. Though admittedly I'm a Psycho Soldier fan, my aim was in no way to make him the protagonist of KOF since, while his subplot seems to be increasingly significant, he's never been the protagonist.
Is that what you meant by 'power scaling', that you thought I was pumping up Kensou to be more than he was? If so, please refresh my memory as to what appeared that led you to that conclusion, if you remember. I'm honestly curious.
That said, this article (as well as those with long character histories) need some subdivision in the history section to make it visually more manageable for the reader. I saw some of the articles subdivided by episode, which could work nicely, but simply dividing the history into backstory (what happened before the character made the first appearance) and the KOF years by itself would work much better than leaving it the way it is. --RemiCogan

- Sorry if I garnered offense on you part. I do realize my edit summery could be concieved as incivil. I realize you're new. I should have henceforth explained my self in furthur detail for my revert. Let's look at the History:
- Revision as of 05:27, March 31, 2006 - On March 31st, you made an addition of saying "(Which would mean exeeding Athena's power.)" to line 98, which states: While Kensou is frequently the butt of jokes and so far only a supporting character in the KOF universe, he has the profound yet largely untapped "Dragon Psychic Power". On the occasions when he has tapped it, it puts him on par with such powerful characters as Terry Bogard, Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami. (Which would mean exeeding Athena's power.) Only recently has he managed to do this with anything approaching regularity.
- Revision as of 05:36, March 31, 2006 - Seeing this edit as decptively "power-scaling" to another character's with a lack of factual basis, I removed it on said terms as of March 31, exactly nine minutes later. As an encyclopedia, the concept of neutality is held in upmost regard here (see the WP:NPOV policy). I hence removed it, as its reasonable to keep such comments out of articles. I realize it was most likely your first time doing this; I once again apologize if I offened you. If you have a source for the statement, I would be estactic to reinsert the information myself. -ZeroTalk 19:56, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

- I actually didn't make the initial assertion that his Dragon Power put him on par with other powerful characters. That was someone else. I did, however, edit that thought for clarity, IIRC. Also, if I were sure that wasn't the case, that the Dragon Power didn't have that sort of boost, I would've deleted it myself later on (I'm getting better at noticing flimsy assertions). However, while I was on exchange in France, where manga had caught on quicker than here in the US, I had the chance to read a bunch of the KOF series. I do remember in an edition of KOF 2001 a reference about Kensou using the Dragon Power to save the day against K9999 at one point (Kensou promptly going lights out to sleep it off for a week afterwards . . .), who was right up there in power. Therefore, I tweaked the assertion instead of dumping it.

- It probably wouldn't do any harm to leave that part the way it is now (whether it's still there or not. I'll check later). It'd be good to track down that manga instead of just relying on memory. It'd also be good to decide whether the manga are canonical on certain points. They clearly, at least, incorporate canon while going off the deep end on other issues, especially if you read the early KOF manga.

- I would guess, given the evidence from Psycho Soldier (Kensou can turn into a dragon while Athena turns into a phoenix), that Kensou won't be more powerful than Athena once that subplot fully unfurls, that she could be due for her own "awakening" or that she's been holding back all this time for some reason. But, of course, that's baseless speculation ;) --RemiCogan

Can we say that? If you comment that there is some similarity of them, yes maybe. But no evidence to say the inspiration between them. As far as I know, Kensou is designed to approach the typical protagonists in shonen manga. He has more in common with Luffy or Naruto. --Mato Rei 04:07, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
