Sierramont Middle School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sierramont Middle School is a three-year middle school located in East San Jose, California on Kimlee Dr and is apart of the Berryessa Unified School District. It is currently a California Distinguished School.

Academics are very important at Sierramont, and the staff and students returned to school this 2006 year with great news! Sierramont gained 28 points on our California State Standards Test for a total API score of 823! Along with academics, they believe that students should be well-rounded socially as well. To meet that goal Sierramont offers excellent elective, activity and athletic programs.

The Sierramont Chess Club is currently undefeated. The last district chess tournament was on Saturday, March 31st, 2007. Piedmont, a nearby school, came in second. Anish Lal was first place for 7th grade, and Tony Nguyen first place for 8th grade. Half of all students who entered got a trophy for each grade level.

Their graduates usually attend Independence High School or Piedmont Hills High School.
