Sierra Pacific Resources NYSE: SRP is a utility holding company based in Reno, Nevada. The company's focus is in energy distribution and commercial and retail sales of electricity and natural gas.

The holding company was created in 1984.
On January 9, 2006 the company announced a plan to connect the Nevada Power and Sierra Pacific electrical networks. In addition the company announced plans to construct two 750MW pulverized coal generation units near Ely. The plant site will be designed to allow the addition of two 500MW coal gasification units if that technoligy becomes affordable.

- Nevada Power Company provides electric power in southern Nevada
- Sierra Pacific Power Company provides electric power and natural gas in northern Nevada and parts of California
- Company was formed in 1928.
- December 15, 2005 received approval to add an additional 514 MW natural gas fired unit to the Tracy Generating Station to be online in 2008.
