[edit] Background

After receiving the Blue Moon Rune (one of the 27 True Runes) in an event that has never been specified, Sierra was turned into the original Vampire of the Suikoden World. This also marks the first event listed in the Suikoden timeline. Taken over by the rune's power, Sierra succumbed to feeding off of other human beings to quench her unsatiable thirst for blood. To escape this fate, she left the world behind and retreated into a forest and took refuge in an abandoned residence.

Over time and for some odd reason, perhaps because of the rune, people wandered into Sierra's forest to commit suicide instead finding the gift of immortality. These people along with Sierra were the inhabitants of the Blue Moon Village.

The village thrived away from the rest of civilization under the protection of the power of the Blue Moon Rune, which quenched their thirst for blood, until the rune was stolen by Neclord. Without the protection of the rune, the villagers turned back to savage vampiric ways and became demonic. Unaffected by the loss of the rune (perhaps because she was the original vampire or because of the time she spent with the rune) Sierra hunted down and destroyed the wild murderers created by her own hands including Rean, the first person who she turned into a Vampire and her companion for some time before Neclord stole the Blue Moon Rune.

[edit] Suikogaiden vol. 1

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Sierra meets up with Nash who is on a mission to find out more about the True Runes. Eventually, the pair end up at Rean's manor but Rean himself is nowhere to be found. Receiving a suspiciously warm welcome by the household staff including the maid Ayana, they are eventually attacked by undead, including the household staff (who are actually vampires) and they are forced to fight. After Nash kills Ayana, Sierra reveals that Rean was the first person she turned into a vampire. Apparently, he stumbled into the forest where she was hiding while injured from an attack on the carriage he was protecting. Sierra finds out that everyone in the carriage died which brings Rean grief. Sierra then gives him her curse and he disappears for some time before returning to the forest to live with her. After Neclord stole the Blue Moon Rune, Rean was one of those who left to feed on the blood of humans forcing Sierra to hunt him.

Sierra eventually confronts Rean but is tricked by him rendering her unconscious forcing Nash to have to fight him, with dire results. She's eventually revived when Nash feeds her his blood and together they are able to defeat Rean. With his dying breath, he reveals that all he ever wanted was for Sierra to be with him forever.

Sierra then leaves Nash and proceeds to Tinto after hearing of Neclords presence there.

[edit] Suikoden II

Eventually, Sierra caught up with Neclord, during the Dunan Unification War, in Tinto. With the help of Viktor, who wielded the Zodiac Sword (the incarnation of the night rune), Kahn Marley (another vampire hunter by name and trade) and Riou's team defeated Neclord and the rune was returned to its rightful owner.

After the war, Sierra stayed around humans as her unquenchable thirst for blood was no more.

[edit] Weapon

Sierra uses her claws (seemingly formed from her cape) as a weapon.

  • Moon (Level 1-3)
  • Half Moon (Level 4-9)
  • Full Moon (Level 10-16)

[edit] Trivia

  • It is speculated that after the events of Suikoden II she marries Suikoden III's Nash Latkje. If Nash is given Sierra's (or the Narrator's) role in the Suikoden II "play" put on by Nadir, he sarcastically refers to himself as "Old Hag Sierra" and says that "I'm arrogant, never keep promises, and suck people's blood at any chance." Nash also claims to Chris that he's married and that his "missus" is quite a handful. Both of these instances are consistent with their relationship as portrayed in Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 - Swordsman of Harmonia.
