Hi! First, welcome to Wikipedia. You can learn a lot about wikipedia from the welcome page.

Wikipedia does not have a formal policy on external links, however there are guidelines on what is acceptable at WP:EL. In general it is preferred to add information to Wikipedia articles rather than external links. If a website includes factual information that the article doesn't include then, so long as the website is a reliable source, we can add those facts and cite the website, but just adding a link to the website is not considered very useful. —JeremyA 03:13, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
