Why was the name "Sid" considered offensive?

- I don't know and can't find out in the time available. I'd guess it was either a frivolous complaint or someone who felt that people called Sid would suffer from being compared to slugs. Note that in the UK the name Sid went out of fashion about 60 years years ago so now mainly elderly people have that name. I imagine the name Sid was chosen partly so that children wouldn't get teased in the playground. Nunquam Dormio 08:14, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
