[edit] Hexen varia

The sidland hexen is a lineage consisting of approximately 50 fingerbreadth tall women. They are not particularily interested in the occasions taking place in the rest of the world and adopt a neutral attitude in most conflicts. They live a life in harmony with the nature and reside under underground in dug dens. The sidland hexen are known for appreciating art and beautiful things. For that reason they own a large quantity of attractive collectors items (for example the painting ”Venom in the goblet” date unknown). It sometimes happens that the sidland hexen are victims of attempted theft or burglary, but they often manage without loosing anything thanks to their brilliant guardian formulas. If they get robbed they try to seek up and curse the perpetrator. The hexen trade with those who pay well and at the same time pays with a duty demanded by them. It is not known where the hexen ancestors came from but according to the myth they have been living in the Sidland since the day Disia rised up from the sea. An other and more likely theory is that they originate from the Sidland fairies that until for approximately ten thousand years ago lived in the Sidland. The hexen selldom propagate, but it happens from time to time (maybe every seven hundred year) that a hex have a child with a stranger that is soonly pushed away again.

[edit] Hexen trade

The sidland hexen has, due to their bad relation to the guardians in Sorgendal and Aakendal for a long time had problems staying in those regions. But after mediation between Susia, Hannah, Brynfel and Grymf an agreement was set that gave the hexen freedom to travel within the regions in exchange for letting Aakendal and Sorgendal put up own traing stations in Näs harbour. During the past houndred years the sidland hexen has delevoped a safe relation to the reserved centaurs. The centaurs otherwise does not wish to have any contact with the Disian inhabitants. It is said that the sidland hexen helps sick or wounded centaurs for the promise that the centaurs helps them at military conflicts. This rumour is not confirmed by the sidland hexen, and they do not seem to have any intentions to make statements about the centaurers to outsiders. During the time the sidland hexen within The Order of the Golden Cauldron (see:Hannah) have been aktive they have developed strong magic formulas and curses sold at the yojas market of Kulm.

[edit] Hexen warfare

The magic powers plus the obsession putting out ambush mines in their surroundings makes them feared enemies, which many highwaymen of the region have had the misfortune to realize. It is said that one highwayman that was stupid enough to assault a lonely sidland hex became so crazy by a curse of madness that he believed himself of being a rooster and settled upon the roof of a farm in the northern Sidland. The farmer finally became so fed up with the crowing that he brought the crazy highwayman to the market in Kulm and sold him to a travelling group of yojas. The yojas gave the highwayman the name “Kaka – the human poultry” and showed him up on their tours. A hex of high ranking can use extremely strong formulas that affect the weather or the disposition of people on long distances. The effect of the hex formulas decrease though depending on the distance to the proposed object. At one occasion a sidland hex tried to assault a flock of scorpires on a calls distance with a tornado curse. The result became one half aun high tornado that only succeed to whirl up dry grass from the ground. The sidland hex evidently fled from the enraged flock of scorpires with her legs on the back the whole way back to Näs.
