Sidewalks of New York is a movie written and directed by Edward Burns, released in 2001.
It tells the story of 6 main characters (played by Edward Burns, David Krumholz, Brittany Murphy, Heather Graham, Stanley Tucci and Rosario Dawson) who are all interconnected somehow.
Burns plays Tommy, a TV producer who has just been dumped by his girlfriend with whom he thought he would spend the rest of his life with. He soon meets Maria (Dawson), a world-weary teacher scared of commitment.
Annie (Graham) is a real estate agent, married to Griffin (Tucci) who, unbeknownst to her, is having an affair with a 19 year old waitress Ashley (Murphy). Ashley wants a real relationship with Griffin, but she soon realizes how silly she has been after meeting Ben, a tragic love-dreamer musician, working as a doorman at a hotel. Ben is still healing from his divorce a year ago to Maria (Dawson), the result of his constant womanizing.
Meanwhile, Annie (Graham), growing ever suspicious of her husbands infidelities, begins a friendship with Tommy (Burns), after they share similar feelings towards the puzzlements of modern relationships.
