Sickie Wifebeater AKA Eric Carlson is a founding member and guitarist of The Mentors. Eric Carlson born May 22, 1958 in Seattle, Washington. Sickie's unique playing style when soloing (with hand above and over the fretboard; as seen in the photo) is what gave the Mentors' guitars a unique sound.

Sickie Wifebeater uses/used a 1978 or '79 Marshall MKII 100 Watt Lead. With checkerboard speaker cabinets. Originaly he used the fullstack.(As pictured on the "Get Up and Die" album cover") But in later years he mainly ran it as a halfstack. Usually when the Mentors tour nationaly, They use other bands backline of equipment.
