"Oh Boyz" "The Truth hurts"

Sick Day is the 43rd episode of the TV series Kim Possible. It is a half length episode that shared a single (full length) time slot with The Truth Hurts. It marks Duff Killigan's 5th appearance, and the 4th time that two recurring villains have teamed up. It is notable in that, halfway through the episode, Kim becomes a secondary character and the primary mission is taken on by other cast members.

[edit] Plot synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The episode begins with much sneezing. The Tweebs have a cold, and Kim is desperate not to catch it. However, in spite of her best efforts, it's not long before she's confined, sick in bed, too.

Even though she's under the weather, Kim decides to take on a mission to guard a top secret device known as "Ray X". Believing it to simply be a matter of babysitting the device until it's moved to a more secure location, Kim packs a truck load of tissues and heads out. As usual, it's not long before things go wrong.

Drakken and Shego arrive on the scene and, while Kim is enduring a protracted sneering fit, the pair walk in and grab the device. Fortunately, Kim spies them on the way out and activates the security shutters, preventing them from getting away. Shego and Kim proceed to mix it up, but during the course of the fight, one of Shego's blasts goes astray and activates the sprinkler system, causing the security shutters to open, and allowing Shego and Drakken to escape. Not, however, before Shego has taken the full force of one of Kim's sneezes right in the face.

Soon, Shego is out of action with a cold. Drakken teams up with Duff Killigan (who works cheap). Meanwhile, Kim's mother has found out that she went on a mission while sick, and is forcing her to stay in bed, leaving it up to Ron to save the day.

Despite his usual bumbling, Ron manages to put together a competent plan, and to carry it out with only a slight pants-related incident. He hang glides and scuba dives to Drakken's island lair, enters it by means of suction cups and a bungee line, and wheels Ray-X out from under Drakken and Killigan's noses as they are arguing over their partnership contract. Things almost take a nasty turn when Ron runs into Shego, but she's too miserable from her cold to care about stopping him, and lets him go without a fight.

Back at the Possible residence, it turns out that Ron didn't get away clean after all. Ron too is now forced to retire to his sick bed. Shego has also infected Drakken, leaving Killigan to take over the pairs' villainous enterprise.

Now the chief villain, Duff hires a sidekick of his own, Hank Perkins; a temp agency lackey with a law degree (which Killigan accepts in-lue of actual villain experience). Between them, Killigan and Hank steal Ray-X out from under Ron and Kim's cold-ridden noses and escape with it.

With both Ron and Kim out of the running, the Tweebs (along with Rufus) decide to try their hand at a mission. But they are captured by Hank (since Killigan is now also sick), forcing Kim, now almost over her cold, to leave her sick bed once more.

Kim arrives just in time to prevent Hank from using the Tweebs for target practice, and encounters Shego, also almost over her cold too. The pair mix it up, stopping periodically to sneeze.

Between them, Kim and the Tweebs manage to stop both Shego and Hank, but also manage to destroy Ray-X in the process.

Back at the lab, Kim asks the scientists who invented Ray-X what it does. They tell her: it cures the common cold.

Spoilers end here.
