Shulgin Alexander

Alexander Shulgin (b. August, 25, 1964) is a Russian author and composer. He was born in Irkutsk, Russia and currently lives in Moscow.
At the age of 18 he joined the Russian band The Cruise.
Shulgin is the author and composer of a number of songs, which were awarded the Song of The Year title many times and were in top positions in Russian and Eastern European charts. He has worked with various Russian music stars. Shulgin was a producer of such music contests as Become a Star (Russian version of Pop Star) and Star Factory (local version of Star Academy), broadcast by the national TV channels. He has composed soundtrack music for films and has worked as music director for some TV channels.
Shulgin is the owner and director of the Familia group of companies, which are involved into new media business, publishing and entertainment.
Shulgin is a member of RAO (Russian Authors’ Society).
He was a jury member for various Russian and international contests in such fields as music, TV and advertising. He is a member of the committee of directors of iMusic TV (Frankfurt, Germany).
Currently Shulgin is actively involved into expansion of the NEW MEDIA SPACE in Russia.
One of Shulgin hobbies is photography. His photographs are published in numberous journals, accompanied by his articles.
Since 2006 Shulgin has been a columnist for the Vzgliad newspaper.
