Shujalpur is legislative assembly constituency.City has a great history attached to itself.City was a camp of Scindia coomander RANOJI Scindia and was known as Raikanpura.Ranoganj chatrris ,whre shiv temple is also situated is said to be the place where RANOJI was ceremated.It is also said that tropic of cancer passes through this Shiv temple. Bal Krishan Sharma who was one of the great poets of modern India belongs to this place.City has also a rich political history,First Prime Minister(as hey then called) of Madhya bharat Pandit Leela Dhar Joshi belongs to this city only. Shujalpur is also a Class "A" mandi of state well connected with rail and road to state capital Bhopal and commercial capital Indore.Nearest Air port is Bhopal which is 83K.M from here.
