Shrek The Halls is a made for TV Christmas special of the Shrek franchise, due to be aired during the holiday season of 2007 on the ABC network, around December 2007. The original cast of Shrek will participate in the special short movie. It is supposed to be half an hour long and will feature the Shrek characters putting their spin on holiday tradition. Art Director Peter Zaslav has revealed that 'we are revisiting some old environments, and all the core groups of characters". Shrek the Halls will be shown in between Shrek the Third and Shrek 4, and is aimed at being visually and in terms of the story, as good as any of the cinema-released Shrek movies. It is hoped to be shown for 15 years every Christmas after its original premiere. So far one picture of the special has been released by Dreamworks, featuring Donkey dressed as Santa with Shrek hanging upside down in the swamp wrapped in fairy lights.
