Short Circuit is really a young guy named Mike Mol who currently lives in West Michigan. He attends Grand Rapids Community College, where he is president of the Computer Club. His interests lie in computer science and electronics. His username of Short Circuit was originally chosen as a CB handle to reflect his interests, and a movie named Short Circuit that had recently been released.

He has been a long-time contributor to wikis, making anonymous contributions to Wikipedia and non-anonymous contributions to Memory Alpha and Shack Battles' Battlefield 2 section.

He is also an avid Slashdot reader, poster and subscriber. He uses Linux on his personal machines.
