PORK BARRELLING

Hello: This is my 2nd blog ever (just finished another one). Other than buying votes, I don't understand anything else about Pork Barrelling. The subjects that I've heard are usually the thoughts and hopes of 1 small group of supporters anyway for a specific area of a state.

We are in such a state of deficit in this country; doesn't it just make sense to put a total stop to this? Look at the amount of money that could be spent on something that would benefit our entire country. IF we stopped this entirely, no 1 state would suffer (suffer isn't the proper word here anyway), no 1 Senator would lack anymore than the next for votes, and once and for all we could get back to running our government without that added, unneeded pressure.
