Dawson tells Joey he wants her in his life and the pair makes strides to become friends again. Dawson and Pacey compete in the annual Capeside Regatta, with Pacey’s boat sponsored by Leery’s Fresh Fish and Dawson’s boat sponsored by the Potter Bed & Breakfast. Joey views the race as competition between Dawson and Pacey with her as the prize. In his quest to beat Pacey, the inexperienced Dawson crosses the finish line first, but disqualifies himself from the race. Meanwhile, Gayle tries to rekindle her relationship with Mitch as Henry tries to get Jen to forgive him.
