Shounen Bat is the main focus in Paranoia Agent. He appears to be a twelve year old boy wearing inline skates, a baseball cap, and carries a golden bat that is bent like a dog's leg. He appears to those who are distressed. As paranoia spreads to other characters in the series, Shounen Bat grows stronger, eventually becoming a hideous demon.

It is revealed in episode 11 that Shounen Bat and Maromi are in fact the same. When Tsukiko was twelve, her dog was run over in the street. Unable to tell her father what had happened, she made up Shounen Bat and claimed she was attacked by a boy wearing a baseball cap and inline skates who was wielding a bent baseball bat.

Makoto Kozuka is a middle schooler who believes he lives in an RPG world. He is seen dressed up as Shounen Bat and only attacks two people:

He is killed by Shounen Bat in Episode 7
[edit] Name Meaning
Shounen Bat literally translates to "Bat Boy". Bat Boy is a pretty easy guess as Shounen Bat is a street assailant who uses a bat to attack people.

It is unknown what happens to Shounen Bat in the end. His final words are "Goodbye" which could mean he may not come back. Near the end, Maniwa (presumably moving on from his position as Radar Man and taking the place of the old sage) is startled by something. Wether it was Shounen Bat or something entirely different is unknown.
