A shotgun is a type of firearm, but it may also mean:

• Shotgunning, a method for drinking beer rapidly out of a can by punching a hole in the side of the can near the bottom
• Shotgunning may also refer to riding shotgun - calling for and then being in the passenger seat in a car or other vehicle
• Shotgun approach, an approach in which the subject chooses from a number of solutions indiscriminately
• Shotgunning can refer to copying and distributing a document to multiple parties at the same time, especially when the author is soliciting inputs/feedback from said parties.
• Shotgun formation, an offensive formation in American football in which the quarterback receives the snap about five yards/metres behind the center
• Shotgun (cannabis), one of a number of terms in the slang of cannabis users
