Shotgate is home to many many houses as well as a business park packed with lots of different factories from engineering to plasterers to building supplies to NIBS bus station. Shotgate also has Village Shops which include:

Shotgate also consists of 2 local parks one small which used to have a climbing frames, slide and swings but these were taken away by the government due to vandalism. And another much larger park which has a small slide, 2 sets of swings, bars and a climbing frame, the park is almost broken into sections due to small hills in the park. Local people call the wooden climbing frame "the wooden", the part which only has a small field "grass area" and the other large section of the park which holds the swings, slide and bars "the playing field" or "play area"
