  • "Hey Man, Nice Shot," arguably Filter's most well-known song, shares an identical guitar riff with the Stabbing Westward song "Ungod" from the album of the same name, which was released a year prior to Filter's Short Bus. Both bands had utilized the talent of Stuart Zechman, the guitarist who wrote the riff.
  • "It's Over" was written about the suicide of Richard Patrick's friend, and Nine Inch Nails bandmate, Jeff Ward.
