A decade back, the city of Hyderabad was known for its hospitality, its amazing Biryani and the Charminar. Today, it is more widely known for its huge IT industry and new glitzy shopping malls and multiplexes. New malls and multiplexes are spawning up every couple of months.Hyderabad has been in the news lately as Reliance decided to start its much-hyped retail venture here.

Located in Banjara Hills, it is the first true mall to come up in Hyderabad. It provides three floors of shopping and hosts some of the well known brands in India. It provides a good shoppping experience providing escelators on every level.A perfect place.

Located in Ameerpet,Abids and Secunderabad, the store is credited with introducing and popularizing denim in Hyderabad through its Buffallo brand.It is the one of the most popular destinations for the masses in Hyderabad and has been present here for more than two decades. Though not as trendy as the newer stores, it provides the most value for money.

Located in Panjagutta, the heart of Hyderabad, it is one of the largest malls in India.Hyderabad Central is a collection of a few small shops, one large multi-branded outlet and a multiplex. It is more appropriate to call it a shop than a mall. It is a part of Central chain malls which have presence in many cities in India. The downside is the lack of sufficient parking.

Located in Begumpet, this store along with Shoppers Stop made Begumpet the preffered shopping area of the affluent in Hyderabad replacing Abids, the famous shopping centre in Hyderabad for several decades. The store provides a good shopping experience but lacks sufficient parking whose lack can be especially felt on the weekends.

Located on the Khairtabad flyover and overlooking the Hussain Sagar, the location is almost perfect. The multiplex compares to the best in the world and also boasts the largest IMAX screen in India. The ambience is excellent and the maintenance is world class. Better known for the theaters and food joints than retial shops, it has managed to attract the biggest names in industry, as it provides an excellent showcase opportunity to the thousands of moviegoers.

Located in Begumpet, it introduced Hyderabad known for its fine dining to fine shopping. It has five floors of shopping experience with a music store, a book store and a food court. Although the first to enter the premium retail market, it compares favourably to newcomers like Hyderabad Central. The store is elegant with a good layout and proviedes adequate parking( which is a huge plus point).
