Shmemis (Arabic: قلعة شميميس‎) also ash-Shmemis, ash-Shmamis) is a castle located 30 km south east from Syrian city Hama, on the road between Hama, Salamiyah and Palmyra.

The castle was built in the 13th century by Assad ud-Din Shirkoh, an Ayyubid governor of Hama.

The castle, situated on top of an extinct volcano is today in ruins with only walls partially preserved.
