Shmais is an online information page providing insightful news and happenings about Chabad Chasidim with specific emphasis on happenings and events in the Crown Heights community of Brooklyn, where a large number of Chabad Chassidim live. A popular section of the web page is the announcement of Mazal Tovs congratulating parents on the birth of a first born child.

Shmais, which is the creation of Levi Hodakov, was started in 1996. The site has grown and now has over 20,000 visits per day.
