[edit] Hello
Thank you for your contributions to List of railway stations in India. May I ask why you made the case of Cannanore and Canacona to upper case? I remember reading somewhere that it is lowercase which is easy on the eye, and hence while linking them, I converted them to lowercase. Is there any particular reason why you reverted it?The Silent Contributor 13:41, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
No particular reason, just left them CAPS coz the whole page was CAPS :) Shijaz 13:44, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Categories
Hello Shijaz. Thank you for your contributions, I enjoy especially these Bahrain-related. Please categorize your new articles or add {{uncat}} to the top of the article and some experienced "categorizer" would categorize them properly. Try always categorize them to the subcats, for example "Forts in Bahrain" instead of "Bahrain". If you would need some help or assistance, just let me know. - Darwinek 12:13, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen
I'm afraid that, once an article has been tagged as a possible copyright violation it goes through a prcoess over which I have no control. You should follow the links on the copyvio template and ask at the Copyvio page. Sorry I can't help further. --Phronima 18:15, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] images on Mappila (Muslim) Keralite culture
I noticed you uploaded Image:Duffmuttu.jpg; I've put it into Kerala as a snapshot of Mappila culture, and it shows an interesting scene. Unfortunately, it's a bit pixelated and low resolution. Are there any better Mappila-related images available that are interesting, good-looking, and high resolution that can be used in Kerala, which will soon appear on the Main page? Thanks. [edit] Image Tagging for Image:CrownPrinceBahrain.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:CrownPrinceBahrain.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days.

[edit] Image Tagging Image:BapcoTanks.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:BapcoTanks.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 13:08, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Good job
I didn't notice you live in Bahrain. :) Thanks for creating those articles. Notify me when you create more. Remember to add a suitable category to them. Best wishes. ~MK~ (talk) 15:01, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Helpme at Talk:Beit Al Qur'an
Hi! I noticed that you used {{helpme}} at Talk:Beit Al Qur'an. What can I help you with? I'm not sure how to track down a Wikipedian to take the photo you want, but perhaps try Wikipedia:Requested pictures. By the way, {{helpme}} is really only meant to be used on your own talk page.--Commander Keane 18:36, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Requests for expansion explains that you can use a stub notice, or place {{expansion}} at the top of the article.--Commander Keane 18:55, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The pictures you posted
The pictures you posted in the Seef article are watermarked with your website. They are also copyrighted by you. You may not - as a wikipedian - hold copyright to a picture posted on wikipedia. All pictures must be released under a free license. Secondly, they are watermarked. This is againt wikipedia's Guidelines. Please read Wikipedia:Image_use_policy. I will again remove them from the Seef article. Please do not restore them on the page until you adhere to the Wikipedia image use policy. Thank you. --Yousifnet 06:45, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Could you please look at this?
TredoSoft did look a little iffy, I have placed a {{prod}} on it. If the prod stays for 5 days the article can be deleted.--Commander Keane 07:42, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- Please discuss this on my user talk. Thanks --Yousifnet 08:42, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia logo
Are there any logos that I can put on my personal website to indicate that I'm a Wikipedian? Are there any restrictions on using such logos? Shijaz 18:01, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure; the page Meta:Logo and trademark policy looks like it has not been finalized. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to send e-mail to the list linked from that page. -- Beland 18:51, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Stubs
Hi Shijaz
Stub templates are used as to tag very short articles that obviously needs expansion (usally an article with 5-10 sentences or less.) These "stub articles" form their own categories automatically, so e.g. Indian contributors might be interested in the articles located at Cat:India stubs and Cat:Indian people stubs. If you wish to tag an article as a stub, just add {{template name}} at the bottom of the page. The list of templates is here: WP:WSS/ST. If you can't find a specific template, just use {{stub}} and others will take it from there. Best regards. Valentinian (talk) 20:45, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright concerns on articles created by you
Hello again, Shijaz. I am sorry to say that I have had to tag a number of articles created by you for copyright violation, as per wikipedia policy. Copying and pasting articles from other websites is considered plagarism, and is not permitted on wikipedia. I hope you do not take this personally, and will continue to contribute to wikipedia. Like I said before, you have been doing great with the other articles.
Make articles from scratch. Thats where the true joy of being a wikipedian lies in. No problem if there is not enough text in it. Just add a stub tag to it, and other users will also contribute, and the article will grow. Again, I stress, please do not take this personally. I hope you understand. -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu_Joseph |TALK 15:43, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- Please modify the other articles, that I have not tagged as copyvio too (viz, matsyafed, Malabar Cnacer center, etc). Else they will soon get listed as copyvio by some other editor. -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu_Joseph |TALK 16:01, 30 April 2006 (UTC)~

- I've striked margin free off the copyvio list. See if you can get similar "go-ahead" nods from the alukas people et al. Thanks! -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu_Joseph |TALK 06:35, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Copra.JPG
Hello, you have tagged this image with {{PD-ineligible}}. However, it is clear that this tag is not proper. It could be used for say, simple chemical structural formulas or geometrical figures, but not for photos! Please read Wikipedia:Copyrights and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. If no proper license will be added in seven days, the image will be re-tagged with {{no source}} and deleted. Please ask on my talk page if you have any questions. Renata 18:39, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pradip Somasundaran
This is a message to all Category:Kerala Wikipedians
I want your opinion on this particular person Pradip Somasundaran. He claims to be a famous singer in Kerala. Now being a Malayalee, I have not heard of this person before, so I wonder whether or not you have heard of him before and set this issue straight. If so, then please let your opinion be counted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pradip Somasundaran. Please note that by voicing your opinion as a Malayalee/Keralite will add more weight to your words.
Many Thanks --Ageo020 21:42, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kaka
You have done a good job in starting many good articles here related to thalassery like Keyi family, odathil palli etc.
I feel that kaka should not be used in person names which is only used for reverence to elderly, instead adding family name Keyi will be better --Soft coderTalk 13:19, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Live bites.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Live bites.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
