Talk:Shinya (musician)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
it said this page was to be speedily deleted, due to me not aserting the significance of shinya (whom this article is about). however, i have editing this and explained shinya's significance, as well as explained that shinya is part of dir en grey, which is a very significant japanese rock band. this is my first article, so instead of speedily deleting it, please re-read it and tell me if it does or does not explain his significance well enough, and give me an example of what to write. i hope i am writing this in the right place, and that an administrator gets this. thanks you^^ ~airyu
- I've removed the speedy delete notice; the article subject is notable.--Muchness 06:07, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

The article contained plenty of unsourced statements, many of them being of questionable relevance as well. It's a stub now but should be up to Wikipedia standards. - Cyrus XIII 00:22, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Trivial Section
I added back the trivial section but every information in there has to have a source stated. - Averal
- Still, I fail to see any relevance in most of this information. Opinions? - Cyrus XIII 18:29, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
It depends on to what subject this information has relevance to. Definately not to Music but fans may find them interesting. - Averal
I see your point about Wikipedia being a relatively formal source so I've edited it once more and removed the trivial section. - Averal
[edit] Requested move back to "Shinya"
User Hatto moved this article to Shinya Terachi (in order to create a disambiguation page which also contained the drummer of Luna Sea), even though the supposed full names of the members of Dir en grey have recently been removed from all related articles, as there have been no sources made available that back these up for some time now. Therefore the last name "Terachi" constitutes unverified information about a living person and should be removed rather quickly. I have removed the disambiguation and added a link on this article to the one about the other musician. This appears to be the appropriate solution until better sources are made available by another contributors. - Cyrus XIII 06:56, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Discussion
I don't dislike Shinya of Dir en grey but don't know about him so much because I'm not a fan of Dir en grey. I'm from Japan and live there and have seen a last concert of Luna Sea in Tokyo Dome. In my opinion, I'm so sorry I don't associate Shinya with the drummer of Dir en grey. It's the drummer of Luna Sea. the band drummer's real name is Shinya Yamada. He is simply called and known as Shinya (真矢?), too. I moved Shinya's article page, but I didn't mean any harm. --Hatto 09:07, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- And I have no doubt that you made those changes in good faith, it's just that at the present time, there are no hard sources for the name "Terachi" and therefore it should not appear on Wikipedia for now. Hence, there is already a clear distinction by having an article named "Shinya" (for the Deg guy) and another one named "Shinya Yamada". On a side note, I think Luna Sea were a terrific band and their drummer's not only exceptionaly skilled but also has a great onstage personality. So neither of us acted on personal preferences, I guess. - Cyrus XIII 11:25, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

- I discovered this webpage. It was written Shinya Terachi (寺地晋也?) here and in Swedish version. --Hatto 13:43, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

- And what exactly makes those links reliable sources? - Cyrus XIII 14:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

- Then shouldn't he go to "Shinya (Dir en grey)" ? -- Beardo 14:07, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

- Well, as the other artist's full name is apparently accounted for, "Shinya (musician)" is probably a bit more adequate. The distinction is easy to comprehend and in the long run, no changes would be needed, should Dir en grey decide to disband or replace their drummer. Since nobody has voted "keep" or provided reliable sources for the supposed surname, I have moved the article to the aforementioned denomination for now and added several people named Shinya to the disambiguation page for the given name. - Cyrus XIII 00:29, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
