"Shiver" is Natalie Imbruglia's first single from her third album release Counting Down the Days and it is her 8th single overall. The song and the music video received a lot of airplay on radio stations and music channels. It is considered a turntable hit worldwide, charting in some countries and attaining the 8th spot on the official UK Top 40 charts but failing to garner significant sales.

[edit] Music video

The music video, inspired by the movie The Bourne Supremacy, started airing around February 2005. It was directed by Jake Nava who has also directed the music video for Britney Spears' hit, My Prerogative, and Holly Valance's State of Mind. It was filmed in Kiev, Ukraine, during winter. A departure from Imbruglia's previous video styles, Shiver had a spy-themed, action-packed plot with car chases and switched identities.

[edit] Chart performance

“Shiver” is considered one of the big disappointments for BMG in 2005, following a huge promotion campaign the single got some fantastic airplay in the UK and Italy and other European territories but this failed to translate into sales thus forcing RCA to abandon promoting “Counting Down The Days” prematurely.[citation needed]
