Shirley Bond

Shirley Bond is a Canadian politician. She is Deputy Premier of British Columbia, Minister of Education (British Columbia) and Minister Responsible for Early Learning and Literacy (British Columbia).

She was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the British Columbia general election, 2001, and re-elected in 2005 with a substantially reduced plurality. A BC Liberal, she is the member from Prince George-Mount Robson. Bond has previously served as Minister of Advanced Education (British Columbia), and Minister of Health Services (British Columbia).

Prior to being elected, Bond was Chair of the Prince George School Board. She was also attending the University of Northern British Columbia but did not yet attain her Bachelor's Degree. She has an arts and sciences diploma from the College of New Caledonia.
