The Shire of Williams is a Local Government Area of Western Australia based in the town of Williams (33°01′S 116°52′E; post code: 6391). It covers an area of about 2,300 km² in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia on both sides of Albany Highway about 160km south-east of the capital, Perth. It has a population of 900 (ABS 2001).

In 1871, the Williams Road Board was gazetted. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1]

Until 2002, the shire was divided into 3 wards - North West (1), North East (1) and Central (3). On 3 May 2003 all wards were abolished and councillors sit at large.
