The Shire of Dundas is a Local Government Area of Western Australia based in the town of Norseman ( 32°11′S, 121°46′E; post code: 6443). It covers an area of about 93,000 km² in the Goldfields-Esperance region between Norseman and the South Australian border generally along the Eyre Highway, between 700 and 1,500 km east of the capital, Perth. It has a population of 1,646 (ABS 2001).

In 1895, the Dundas Road Board was gazetted. It merged with part of Esperance to become the Norseman Road Board in 1918, but reestablished as Dundas in 1929. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1]
