The Shire of Dalwallinu is a Local Government Area located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 250 kilometres (155 mi) NNE of Perth, the state capital. The Shire covers an area of 7,236 km² (2,791 mi²) and its seat of government is the town of Dalwallinu (30.280° S 116.661° E; post code: 6609).

Initially, the area was managed by the Moora and Upper Irwin Road Boards. In 1916, the Dalwallinu Road Board was gazetted. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1]
