The Shire of Albany was a Local Government Area of Western Australia centred on (but not including) the town of Albany (35°01′S 117°53′E; post code: 6330). It covered an area of about 4,300 km² in the Great Southern region of Western Australia on Great Southern Highway, 410km south-south-east of the capital, Perth.

In 1896, the Albany Road Board was gazetted. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act. It amalgamated with the Town of Albany to become the City of Albany on 1 July 1998. At the time of amalgamation, it had 13 councillors and 5 wards, with Harbour Ward (5 councillors) and four others (including Hassell and Millbrook) with 2 councillors each.
