Shinzan

Shinzan(シンザン, 2 April 1961 - 13 July 1996) was a thoroughbred racehorse that won the Japanese Triple Crown.

- Dam: Hayanobori - (Japan), 1949
He is the best Japanese racehorse of the post-war era, and became the first horse to win all 5 big titles of Japan including Japanese Triple Crown.
Shinzan born on April 2, 1961 in Hokkaidō Prefecture.
He became the second horse to win the Japanese Triple Crown, thereby was chosen as a champion horse in Japan of 1964. Shinzan won the Arima Kinen, Takarazuka Kinen, and Tenno Sho Autumn, and was a champion horse in 1965 as well.
He was a successful sire in Japan. His most successful offspring was Miho Shinzan(ミホシンザン) who won the Japanese 2000 Guineas, Japanese St. Leger, and Tenno Sho Spring.
Shinzan died in Hokkaidō on July 13, 1996 at the age of 35.
