Shin guard

Shin guards or shin pads are pieces of equipment used in ice hockey and roller hockey. They are used to protect the players shins from the ball or a hockey stick in roller hockey and they are used as protection from the puck or a hockey stick in ice hockey. They are usually secured on using velcro straps.

Shin guards are also used in football (soccer) to protect the player's shin from being kicked at by other players
