This is a Korean name; the family name is Jung.

Shin Hye-sung (born Jung Pil-kyo on 27 November 1979) is the lead vocalist of the famous boy band Shinhwa. "Hye Sung" means Comet. He auditioned in America and became the first member to be part of the group. He released his first solo album entitled "오월지련"(Love of May, 五月之戀) in 2005. This album ranked number one on the HMV pre-order sales chart in Japan in February 2005, with 80,000 copies sold.

He took part in the side-project S in 2003, along with his good friends Kang Ta and Lee Ji Hoon. The vocal-oriented trio released a project album of ballads, Fr.in.Cl. With this occurring, Shinhwa have confirmed that they have not disbanded. Hyesung experiments with his dancing styles, often combining them with taekwondo, in which he has a black belt.

Hye Sung is famous for his "crab dance" and "Mommy, I want that" dance, which he performed in gameshows like X-Man, Love Letter and Heroine 6. But he hates it.^{[citation needed]}
