Shimanovsk

Shimanovsk (Russian: Шима́новск) is a town in Amur Oblast, Russia, located on the Bolshaya Pyora River (Zeya's right tributary) some 250 km north of Blagoveshchensk. It is also a railroad station on the Trans-Siberian Railroad. There is an airport in the town, Shimanovsk Airport. Population: 22,267 (2002 Census).
It was founded in 1910 as Pyora. It was renamed Gondatti in 1914, and Vladimiro-Shimanovsky in 1920. It was granted town status and renamed Shimanovsk in 1950.
