Shihan van Clief (born Ron van Clief jr. August 4, 1975) as is an African-American spoken word artist and poet, best known for his appearance on the HBO television series Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry. He is the son of five time karate and kung-fu world champion grand master Ron van Clief. Apparently, his father gave him the stage name 'Shihan' which means teacher in Japanese.
