SHIFEE

SHIFEE (Suburban Highway Institute for Energy Efficiency) is an organization made up of traffic engineers, environmental engineers, and energy experts that researches and evaluates typical traffic flow through suburban areas. SHIFEE has 3 main goals: 1) reduce dependence on foreign oil, 2) reduce emissions, and 3) help slow urban sprawl. The organization, founded in 1993, is based in Phoenix, Arizona. The group focuses on cities of less than 1 million population, and evaluates and grades them based on traffic control effectiveness.
