Dragon Ball Z: Shin Butoden is a video game for the Sega Saturn based on the fictional manga Dragon Ball. The game uses the same characters and sprites of an earlier released game called Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22. Shin Butoden is considered by many to be the superior of the two games.
[edit] Modes
At the time of it's release, Shin Butoden set the record for the most playable modes in a Dragon Ball Z game. In Story Mode, the player play through many battles to try to get to the ending. In Versus Mode, players can either fight against a friend, a computer controlled character, or have two computer controlled characters fight each other. In the Group Battle Mode, players gets to create a team of five characters and fight against either another plaer or a computer controlled character. In Tenkaichi Budokai Mode, One to Eight players can compete in elimination matches. The Last Mode, Mr. Satan Mode, is the most unique mode in the game. In it, Mr. Satan is trying to raise enough money to pay off his debt to Android 18, and the player places bets on matches and cheats by using several items including bannana peels, guns, and dynamite.
