[edit] License tagging for Image:Proof.PNG
Thanks for uploading Image:Proof.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- If the above notice is confusing, it basically means you need to put a tag under the image that says you created it. There are some examples of tags that are applicable to image creators at Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators. You need to pick one of those, such as
{{GFDL-self}}
(a pretty standard one), and replace the template that looks like this:{{untagged|month=March|day=6|year=2007}}
. If you don't, it might get deleted. Let me know if you need help. Leebo T/C 03:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] You are you
Heh! I like that picture. Ok, you're Shelby Young. I'm fine with that. Welcome to the strange world of wikipedia. :-)
While on the topic of pictures, could we get a nice GFDL image for your wikipedia article as well? You'd have an advantage over many other artists that way!
--Kim Bruning 00:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Hah thanks. But, my mom made me take the picture down. Thing is, I don't know how to delete it from the website. Do you know? Thanks =)
Shelby 03:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, Shelby. It looks as though the photo has been deleted. I'm getting a red letter link when I type in the name of the photo, which usually means it has been deleted and is no longer on the site. If you could show me where the pic is still up, I'll talk to an admin about removing it.
Ispy1981 03:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Aha! So, speedy deletion, then?
Ispy1981 04:01, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I looked through WP:CSD for a tag that could be used for images that is like {{db-author}} is for articles, but I didn't see one. I have to admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable about image policy. Leebo T/C 04:03, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- db-author is under the general category; it doesn't only apply to articles (that would be A#). Anyway, I tagged it, and someone else deleted it, so it's all good now. Hbdragon88 04:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Ha, that makes two of us. Ispy1981 04:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- {{db-author}} is valid for anything the author is the sole creator of per WP:CSD#G7. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 04:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, cool, thanks for the clarification. Leebo T/C 04:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Beat you to it by a few seconds, lol. Hbdragon88 05:01, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks guys! :]

[edit] User name
I'm afraid that, though some editors seem to be happy that you're Shelby Young, I'm not. Aside from anything else, you've added information to Shelby Young about Bridge to Terabithia (2007 film) which is not only contradicted by IMDb and the film's Web page, but by Shelby Young's Web page. I've placed the account at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names; you are free to join in the discussion there. If you can demonstrate your identity (I'm afraid that a photograph is too easily doctored to do that), that would be good.
If you are Shelby Young, what is the basis for your claim that you should be in the credits of Bridge to Terabithia? --Mel Etitis (Talk) 13:43, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I am sorry about the concern about you identity, this was already settled before. The photograph is a normal way to confirm such things, it was not doctored, you can tell when it is not doctored especially on a webcam image because of the artifacts. I will attempt to clarify. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 14:35, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Shelbyyoung. While there had been some discussion here about whether your username met Wikipedia policy on what usernames editors can use, the result was to allow it, and that discussion has now been closed. If you would like to see what concerns were raised, you can still find that discussion in the archive (here). You do not need to change your username. However, if you ever wish to do so, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name: simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. -- HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 15:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

- P.S. Sorry this is a little late, but I hope you enjoy contributing to our encyclopedia. To reduce the controversy, you might want to do a little work on subjects you are interested in, but not related directly to yourself. Regards, Newyorkbrad 15:14, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I wish to second Newyorkbrad's welcome and suggestion. You've heard it before, but if you need any help, feel free to ask someone for it. Acalamari 19:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Archiving
You asked me about removing stuff from your talk page. You are allowed to simply delete content from your talk page, but you may wish to archive it instead, you can find instructions for archiving here: WP:ARCHIVE. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 18:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Incident
Dear Miss Young,
First and foremost, I apologize for the actions of one of the contributors here in vandalizing your userpage and page on Wikipedia. Cineworld is not an administrator on Wikipedia, just a user here. Secondly, we have opened a Request for Comment (shown here) on Cineworld. You are welcome to comment upon the actions of the user. Thirdly, since you have been confirmed as the subject of the article by an external source, your credibility is genuine to authoring your page on Wikipedia and upon representing the truth on Wikipedia by giving stated facts in order to improve the quality of the article. If possible, (and with permission from your mother (or an agent, first), could you please upload an image (a publicity image) for the article? We can thus tag the article as a attribution image, which means that people have to notify you first to use the picture. I wish you best in your career! Real96 08:55, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Miss Young,
I would like to second Real96's apology for the recent actions of Cineworld and his suspected anon IP's. Cineworld in no way reflects the spirit of Wikipedia. He's just a user, like you or I, (I'm not an admin, BTW) who seems to have disappeared in the days since the Request for Comment against him was filed. Many people come to Wikipedia with nothing better to do than vandalize and harrass. Again, this is not in the spirit of Wikipedia. I would encourage you, if you should decide to continue participating in the building of your article, to read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:BLP#Using_the_subject_as_a_source It's a small but handy guide, basically detailing what is acceptable and what is not, as far as editing, from the subject of an article, such as yourself. I also note that you asked about removing items from your talk page. Generally, registered users like yourself are allowed the freedom to remove material at their discretion, except in the case of warnings, though if it's a harrassing comment, for example, it's best to take it to someplace like the Admins' noticeboard, where they will deal with the user, before deleting it. You may wish to archive your talkpage. This is done in a variety of ways. The simplest, to my mind, is Werdnabot or Shadowbot, bots that automatically archive your talkpage after a specific amount of time, say 7 days, to an archive page you create. I believe WP:ARCHIVE gives instructions on how to use these bots. If you decide to use them, and have questions, feel free to contact myself or someone else who has "This talkpage is automatically archived..." at the top of their talkpage. I hope your time here will be more pleasant than it has been and wish you continued success.
Can I just say, please ignore the CineWorld madman? --Snakeman 06:49, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Zip
Just wanted to let you know, an admin has removed the Zip credit as unsourced, for now. If you can find a source for it, let me know, and I'll replace it or you can do so yourself. Oh, and I don't believe the IP's claim of being you and will pass it on to admins to examine.
Ispy1981 14:33, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Sure :]
Futon Critic (it's at the bottom of the page)
Is that sufficient? Futon Critic isn't a fan site, I don't think. It lists upcoming projects, and such. Oh, and I'll leave a comment on the page Real96 was telling me to, later today.
Thank you!
Shelby 23:53, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
I'll add the credit to the page with the attribution and see if it will hold. Thanks.
