The restrictions on trail use vary and only small portions if any are designated for motorised use, except for portions that follow existing roads. The Red River Gorge dose not allow mountainbikes on many trails but does have 4x4 designated routes. A missing sign is not an excuse in the eyes of enforcement officers so check first and get maps. Plan routes and let someone know your plans. Every year people die from getting lost or hurt while in these wilderness areas resulting in massive expense for search & rescue effort. Letting someone know where you are planning to go and sticking to your plan along with proper preparation can help to avoid a tradgity...
