Sherri Kay DuPree Gilbert was born on December 3, 1983, in Houston, Texas, and the second eldest of six children. She is a vocalist, guitarist and lyricist for the band Eisley. Three of her siblings, Chauntelle, Stacy and Weston are also members of Eisley, along with her cousin, Garron DuPree. Her drawings can be seen on many of the Eisley merchandise as well as on most of their album artwork.

Sherri is married to Chad Gilbert guitarist/writer of New Found Glory, whom she met on tour. Sherri currently resides with her husband in Tyler, Texas.
