Shermine Shahrivar

Shermine Shahrivar (Persian شرمینه شهریور) is a 22-year-old of Iranian origin won the title of Miss Europe 2005 in Paris. Shermine won 50,000 Euros in cash, a trip to Tunisia, an skiing trip in the Alps, and a 15,000 Euro necklace.

Shermine was born in Iran but left the country with her family for Germany when she was one year old. She became Miss Deutschland (not Miss Germany) last year and then Miss Europe this year in France.

She is born from an Iranian father and a German mother. Shermine's parents are divorced, and she lives with her mother and three brothers. Her father is a pilot and lives in Iran. Shermine also owns a villa in Noshahr which she visits around twice a year.

The 174 cm beauty queen, has a university degree in social sciences; speaks Persian, German, English and French. Her hobbies are horse-riding and swimming.

Shermine Shahrivar has been selected to be the host of the Oberhausen, Germany Nowruz celebration, said to be the largest in the World, on March 19, 2005.
