From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sherman3D.com (S3D) is an online anime game development community. S3D was founded by Sherman Chin and Tiffany Lim in 2001. The Sherman3D.com game development community became the catalyst for Sherman3D's award winning business plan that secured the 2nd-runners up place in Venture 2002, Malaysia's first nationwide business plan competition. The award was presented to Sherman3D by Malaysia's Prime Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi. Sherman3D Sdn Bhd is now a multimedia game software development and graphic design company registered in Malaysia. It was incorporated as a private limited company in April 2003 after finding its roots as an online game development community.

Sherman3D has a long history where it started as a spinoff from Epix Interactive Studios Inc., a Delaware based company, in 2001 when it closed down when their MMORPG, Fate, was cancelled after the burst of the dot com bubble. The community was founded as a means of keeping the former Epix staff connected and continuously sharing information with each other.

The Sherman3D.com community succeeded in creating the Karawachi space shooter game which caught the eye of Butterfly.net that subsequently invited S3D to develop an MMORPG for their supercomputing grid. Unfortunately, the project was never completed and Sherman3D ended its term with Butterfly.net.

Sherman3D as a company works closely with 5th Cell Media LLC. focusing on mobile and casual games. Together, the games they have had published worldwide by THQ Wireless include:

1) MotoGP Manager (mobile)

2) Full Spectrum Warrior (mobile)

On the PC casual game platform, Sherman3D worked with 5th Cell on the DNA puzzle game published by Merscom. Sherman3D also worked with 5th Cell on the Nintendo DS title, Drawn To Life.

Besides work with 5th Cell, Sherman3D focuses on Anime, Comics (Manga) and Games. S3D is in the midst of the producing Alpha Kimori as a PC game and a manga title.
